A new swimming facility
for training children and Tri-athletes.

This low cost prototype was designed for Frutina Swim Centres to test
the effectiveness of teaching young children to swim using the Endless
Pool counter current system that can be varied in strength to suit
the swimmer.

The first unit has been installed in converted changing rooms in the Westway
Sports Centre in London. The unit, designed on a tight budget, is set
up to test the market demand for the system.
The design involved the strip-out of two existing changing rooms to incorporate
a double and single user Endless Pool unit. The single pool is equipped
with video cameras to film swimmers from several angles to appraise their
swimming technique. This is then played back to the swimmer on a large
flat screen plasma T.V. adjacent to the pool.

The punchy colour palette combined with robust polycarbonate cladding
systems was chosen to create maximum appeal to younger users.
