HKR Architects
Tallest proposed building in Northern Ireland - 37 storeys

LOCATION : Great Victoria Street, Belfast
SIZE : 290,000 sqft
VALUE : £30m
CLIENT : McAllister Homes
TYPE : Residential Tower
OVERVIEW
At present the Aurora building site sits on the southern fringe of Belfast
City Centre with most recent re-development work centred on the Lagan
River.
The site offers the opportunity to move the regeneration agenda to the
southern fringes of the city centre and help join the city with the thriving
education quarter at Queens University.
HKR Architects' proposals seek to address the opportunity to lift the
overall quality of the immediate surroundings and at the same time set
a new benchmark for the future of the wider city. Entrepreneurial and
loyal to Belfast's past our aim has been to create a confident urban identity
that contributes to and enhances the city context.

Clad predominantly in glass the Aurora building seeks to provide a city
marker and focal point creating a key gateway into and out of the city
centre.
Winter gardens located on the East and West facades will provide round
the year amenity space and help to further activate the elevations.
A podium element integrates the Aurora building in form, height and materials
with the neighbouring streetscape.
