On 1 Dec 2006, Her Majesty the Queen of the Netherlands opened the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision in Hilversum.

The institute contains the national archives of Dutch radio and television recordings and a museum called 'Experience' where visitors can feel, see and play with television.
