Maison H3 in Saint Tropez

Design: Vincent Coste Architecte

Drawn for a gallery owner and her husband, this house was finished in 2013 in Saint-Tropez and became established on a very narrow ground.

Maison H3

Developing all living areas upstairs this option allowed to be free from street level by capturing the surrounding areas. The large patio on all intimate rooms of the ground floor provides perspectives from each of these parts to the upper level.

The spaces are well united around the long pool. The front of this volume cantilevered overhang is dressed of natural terracotta cladding specially developed for the project.

By creating a texture cast shadows throughout the house, these facade elements mingle with the cast shadows of the removable pergolas.

The Le Pine Villa is a family summer house in Saint Tropez, France designed by SAOTA, is a contemporary interpretation of traditional Mediterranean Riviera architecture. Free from the constraints of the historical vernacular, the project became an opportunity to advance the expression of form, space, and lifestyle associated with the location.

Throughout the house, there is an interplay of solid walls and large openings – created by full height windows and sliding doors opening into pockets. The individual elements of the upper portion of the house are unified by a horizontal eyebrow linking them and framing the outdoor garden courtyard.
