Officially the Republic of Finland (Finnish: Suomi) is a sovereign state in Northern Europe. The country has land borders with Sweden to the northwest, Norway to the north, and Russia to the east.

Estonia is south of the country across the Gulf of Finland. Finland is a Nordic country situated in the geographical region of Fennoscandia, which also includes Scandinavia. Finland’s population is around 5.5 million.

This building is located in the northern part of Finnish Lapland. Sajos is the centre of culture and administration for the Sami people. The building includes not just the usual spaces you would find in a cultural centre – offices, restaurant, library – but a parliament hall and auditorium.
