Architect Stephen Hodder, President of the Royal Institute of British Architects, will hold a presentation on “Continuity and Development” in the final plenary session of RIFF 2013, on November 12. The RIBA President is the special guest of our 10th architecture expo conference, which will take place on November 11 and 12, in Bucharest. Stephen Hodder is the winner of the American Institute of Architects Award and 5 times RIBA winner.

RIFF 2013 Presents the Winner of the World Architecture Festival, Singapore, “Office” Category

The new Statoil regional and international offices at Fornebu is the winner of the World Architecture Festival from Singapore in the Office category, which took place on October 2-4, 2013.

The judges said, “This was a comprehensive and integrated project that merges modular construction and cost effectiveness in a modern Scandanavian way, demonstrating a deep understanding of democratic and social values in the new working environment. The whole social life of the building revolves around a central circulation tower fostering high levels of casual interaction in a company that shares international knowledge. An almost column free open and light interior makes a delightfully stimulating workplace.”

The Statoil project will be presented in RIFF International Architecture Expo Conference 2013 by architects Geir Haaversen and Odd Klev, two of the founders of a-lab architectural office, on November 11-12, in Bucharest.

RIFF 2013: arch. Richárd Hőnich and Tamás Fialovszky on the Kodály Centre

On November 12, in RIFF International Architecture Expo Conference 2013, arch. Richárd Hőnich and arch. Tamás Fialovszky will present the “Kodály Centre”.

The building in Pécs, Hungary, designed by the team of architects Építész studio covers a surface of 11,200 square meters and serves as a conference centre and concert hall.

In 2010, the city of Pécs was one of the three European Capitals of Culture, alongside Istanbul, Turkey and Essen, Germany. The Kodály Centre was one of the main projects carried out for this event.

RIFF 2013 : Facades awarded in Norway and Poland

Dariusz Herman, Partner within HS99 office in Poland and Kyre Sundal, Partner within MAD office in Norway will present the awarded facades of “CINiBA” in Katowice and “B-11 Building” in Bjørvika. RIFF 2013 Architecture Expo Conference will take place on November 11 and 12 at JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel, bringing together over 400 European architects.

Within the 4th edition of the RIFF, the participation of all architects members of/affiliated with a professional organization is free of charge, subject to availability.

In the two days of the event, architects can participate in presentations of architectural projects that have been highly-awarded in international competitions in the past year, in thematic workshops on architecture facades and roofs, as well as a thematic exhibition of companies with advanced solutions for architecture. The special guest of the event is the President of the Royal Institute of British Architects, arch. Stephen Hodder. He has been in practice since  1983 and in 1992 formed Hodder Associates. Stephen Hodder is winner of the ‘American Institute of Architects’ Award and of 5 RIBA Awards.
