OECD Celebrates Exemplary Design of Schools and Universities, Paris, 29 September 2011

The international release of Designing for Education : Compendium of Exemplary Facilities 2011 will be celebrated in a live webcast on 29 Sep 2011. The publication showcases more than 60 exemplary schools and universities selected by an international jury on behalf of the OECD’s Centre for Effective Learning Environments (CELE).

The 2-hour webcast at the OECD’s HQ will begin at 16.00 GMT+1.00 on 29 September. A celebrity host and five education reformers – researchers, educators, architects and policymakers – will take the audience on a journey through the top schools and universities in the Compendium, from Japan and Australia to Austria, Chile and the United States. The programme will also feature short videos prepared by staff and students at five schools featured in the publication.

Anyone with an interest in educational facilities can attend the event in person, or follow it from their computer. The audience will be encouraged to actively participate by voting for their favourite Compendium submission and joining in debate on the future of innovation in design. Participants will be able to mingle during the post-event cocktail party with the leading minds in education policy, pedagogy, design and research.
