The Love Shack, Cumbria
Planning permission has been granted by the Lake District National Park Authority to build a house for two artists on the shores of Lake Windermere.
The Love shack is approached through an established coppice wood where the rising route both inside and outside of the shack culminates in spectacular elevated views over the Lake.
The Authority is hoping this will be an exemplar project in its use of innovative auger pile foundations and sympathetic drainage solutions to minimise impact on the existing tree roots,
Construction will also explore the use of a locally produced structural insulated panel system to minimise site operations.
The shack will be ready for loving in late 2007!
