Henn Architekten 21 Aug 2009 GROUNDBREAKING, CENTRE FOR REGENERATIVE THERAPIES DRESDEN (CRTD) AT THE TU DRESDEN Centre for Regenerative Therapies Dresden (CRTD) at the Technical University Dresden Interdisciplinary research and space for communication: the Centre for Regenerative Therapies Dresden carries out interdisciplinary research in the field of stem cell and regeneration. It is funded as part of a DFG research centre and the excellence cluster at the Technical University Dresden. The CRTD is devoted to interdisciplinary clinical and basic research in the field of medicine, cell- and developmental biology, as well as nanotechnology, material sciences, and engineering. The CRTD building joins the BioInnovation Centre in a U-shape and follows its storey heights. The new design has four storeys with a lecture theatre, offices and laboratories, a bistro and seminar rooms. While the offices are oriented towards the inner courtyard and Fetscherstraße, the laboratories are located in the outer north and south wings of the complex. On the extensive east facade will be the main entrance which leads to a spacious hall. The hall provides the main circulation route connections, informal recreation areas and exhibition space. In addition, it also serves as a place for communication and transfer of knowledge, and connects different functional areas of the north and south wing. Es wird im Rahmen eines DFG-Forschungszentrums sowie eines Exzellenzclusters an der Technischen Universität Dresden gefördert. Das CRTD widmet sich der interdisziplinären klinischen und Grundlagenforschung im Bereich der Medizin, der Zell- und Entwicklungsbiologie, sowie der Nanotechnologie, der Materialwissenschaften und der Ingenieurswissenschaften. Das CRTD-Gebäude fügt sich in U-Form an das BioInnovationszentrum an und nimmt dessen Geschosshöhen auf. Die neue Planung sieht vier Geschosse mit einem Hörsaal, Verwaltungsbüros und Laboren, einem Bistro und Seminarräumen vor. Während sich die Büros zum Innenhof und zur Fetscherstraße orientieren, sind die Labore im außen liegenden Nord- und Südflügel des Gebäudekomplexes untergebracht. An der großflächigen Ostfassade des Hauses soll der Hauptzugang entstehen, der in eine lichte Eingangshalle führt. Zentrale Erschließungsfunktionen sowie Pausen- und Ausstellungsflächen sind in ihr zusammengelegt. Zudem dient die Halle der Kommunikation und dem Wissenstransfer, und verbindet die verschiedenen Funktionsbereiche des Nord- und Südflügels miteinander.
