Success at MIPIM for schmidt hammer lassen - 22 Feb 2008
For the second year running Danish architects schmidt hammer lassen is celebrating
success at the MIPIM Architectural Review future projects awards. schmidt hammer lassen’s housing scheme in Jelling, Denmark, known as ‘The Gardens’ was highly commended in the ‘Residential’ category.

Morten Holm, Partner at schmidt hammer lassen said; “We are immensely proud to have our work recognised in this way on the international stage of MIPIM. To win in these awards two years running is a phenomenal achievement and a real testament to the recognition of Scandinavian architecture and schmidt hammer lassen as a company.”

Commended residential project
The highly commended housing project in Jelling is concentrated around the gardens, which have provided the inspiration for the buildings; the gardens are laid out with a variety of fruit trees and a sculptural garden wall which winds through the development as a contemporary town wall. The houses have the appearance of white, clear-cut volumes, and are loosely concentrated in six clusters.

The Gardens are currently under construction.
