Czech Buildings
We've selected what we feel are the key examples of Czech Republic Architecture. Buildings are mostly located in the capital, Prague. We aim to include Czech Republic buildings / projects that are either of top quality or interesting, or ideally both.
We cover completed Czech buildings, new building designs and architecture competitions. The focus is on contemporary Czech Republic buildings but information on traditional buildings is also welcome.

Brno Observatory and Planetarium - 2 Apr 2013
This Czech building represents principles and objectives of Science Exploratorium: exploring, explaining and protecting of the natural world as for the field of astronomy. The original building was built gradually from 1949 to 1991. The visitor is not supposed to be coming here for the building´s mere presence, but to watch a cosmic phenomena normally unobservable. The logical design consequence was to interconnect the building with park so that an impression of transparency could be set up.

New Czech building
The new complex buildings are located in downtown Zlin and consist of a Congress Centre for the City and Library for the University of Tomas Bata. The setting of both buildings is a response to the surrounding urban axis and local massing of adjacent buildings. Each building is located on a very restrictive plot owned by various institutions. Their orientation and organic shapes allow the buildings to ‘peel’ away from each other, creating their own identity whilst being set in a unifying landscape.

Czech Republic Hotel - 19 Jul 2011
Design Hotel Miura, that recently opened at the north-western part of the Czech Republic, gratifies art lovers, design and architecture fans as well as golf enthusiasts. The hotel really is an exceptional piece. It is located just at the margin of two golf eighteens Čeladná. A marvellous valley in the midst of picturesque Moravian mountains. Architecture of the entire building is rough as the surrounding mountains but at the same time cosy where it should be.
