Twister Tower, Copenhagen 2008- Christensen&Co Arkitekter New high rise in Copenhagen The municipality of Copenhagen has just approved Christensen & Co Architects’ proposed new residential tower ”Twister” combined with a new music cafér Twister and the music cafe has a completely unique location immediately next to coast of Copenhagen overlooking both Copenhagen and across the Oresund straight to Sweden. The name Twister is derived from the dynamic rotation created by the slight displacement of each of the floors. The residential tower measures 45 m and will include amazing apartments with 360 degrees views across the straight and Copenhagen. The new music café by the base of Twister will be a radical refurbishment of a listed gun powder storage building from 1779. The historical building will be thoroughly refurbished after decades of neglect and fitted with a bar, restaurant and facilities for music and theatre events. The organisers aim at arranging up to 150 concerts a year and their goal is to create an all-year-round hub of events and activity by the beautiful beach. Refurbishment of the music is scheduled for summer 2009 and the construction of the Twister tower is due late 2009.
