This vast and strikingly beautiful desert landscape is the inspiration for the design. The tectonic mechanisms responsible for the landscape, where mountain ranges seem to slide past each other, is emulated by massive parallel walls of the house.

New House in San Luis Potosi

22 Feb 2013 - This is a residence in an exclusive subdivision in San Luis Potosi City, in a steep land (greater than 5 meters). The main interest of the client was to have a house on one level, which was complicated by the topography. It was decided to build a breast wall by a cut in the ground creating a game room and a terrace.

The architecture strives to incorporate the beautiful environs into the living areas with wall to wall sliding glass doors, expansive terraces, private gardens and double height vaulted ceilings. As such this home is inspired by the region and its traditions whilst still maintaining a 21st century feel.

Pier House, Brazil

The proposal was to divide the house in two volumes. The first one is a solid box covered with whitewash, and its "muxarabi" windows filter the light and allow permanent ventilation. It is the result of the region's typical construction method, a legacy from colonial times. The second one was constructed with metal tile and pre-fabricated wood structure. This home has profited from the construction's industrialization in order to dispense the building site and thus avoid the environmental impact.

P-K House, Austria
Haus P-K

The P-K House is oriented north-south and located in a setting in southern Burgenland that has an agricultural character which it was wished to preserve. The approach driveway from the road comes from the north-west and is incised into the terrain. It starts with an embankment on both sides and is then flanked by a retaining wall that, as a building element, rises continuously out of the ground and reaches storey height towards the entrance.

Paraty House, Paraty, Brazil

Paraty House’s two reinforced concrete boxes, sit atop each other, connected on the mountainside of one of the islands of the colonial city of Paraty and Angra dos Reis (between São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro), like two modern prisms between the large colossal stones of the Brazilian coast. The house outward from the mountain, almost onto the beach, in an 8m cantilever. The residents arrive by boat. After stepping out onto the sand a metallic bridge positioned over a crystal-lined reflecting pool leads to a set of stairs connecting to the lower volume. The continual internal area has a 27m span and huge glass windows to take advantage of the view of the sea.
