To design on a river-bank, is always perceived a privilege by architects!

Consequently, thorough and yet unconstrained investigation should prepare the final solution. The attached drawings show part of such drawn inquiry.

The drawings of the first group are depicting a Public Safety Building, with 3.000 car parking, the office part, and a small courthouse, to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

International Conference Center in Budapest, Hungary

The second group is a competition project for an international conference center, in Budapest, Hungary.

While working with the first project, the introductory drawing, completely incorrectly, called up the memory of the Abbey in Melk, Austria, as one of the most inspiring architectural complex ever built by a river. The rigor of the functional aspect of the monastery, and the flamboyance of the Church is unsurpassable in our time!

Dr. Peter Magyar

Dr. Peter Magyar, RIBA., is an International educator, architect and author. Since 1989 he has been head and director of three Architectural Departments, or School, at the Penn State, Florida Atlantic and Kansas State Universities respectively. He is interested in the intuitive and cognitive processes of design, archived thousands of drawings in this field, some of them are published in his latest books: “Thought Palaces”, 1999 Architectura & Natura Press, and “ThinkInk”, 2010, Kendall Hunt. Dr. Peter Magyar is currently based at Kansas State University, USA.
