Having exhausted the potential for expansion within the complex, Clare
Hall purchased a large 1960's house with extensive grounds located
nearby. We converted it to provide flats for visiting Fellows and
obtained Planning Permission to build a new court in the garden to
the west. This court (West Court) is formed by the Paul Mellon Building
containing 11 flats for visiting Fellows and the Robert Honeycombe
building which provides 13 graduate study bedrooms. The flats are
two-way facing, four to a staircase, and with the exception of a disabled
persons flat, have two bedrooms.
