The architects propose increasing the number of waterfront residences to meet the current demand for young professional housing by building on the water. Floatyard will be a floating complex - entirely on water - that will provide both housing and public programming.

Charles Rose Architects announces the completion of a highly innovative zero-net-energy building. The 24,000-square-foot combined transit center and government office, built with federal stimulus funds, is the first of its type in the United States. Also designated as a future train depot on the Connecticut River corridor, the building is designed to generate through renewable sources all the energy that it uses—meaning its net-energy consumption over the course of a year will be zero.

ENfold a 500' glowing ribbon in Frederick Law Olmsted’s Evan’s Way Park, directly across from the Isabella Steward Gardner Museum, is currently under construction. The installation has already been recognized by the Boston Society of Architects, as it has been nominated to receive an 2013 Unbuilt Architecture Award.

The office building is a part of Mayor Thomas M. Menino’s Dudley Square Vision Project, which seeks to revitalize the once-thriving urban neighborhood of Roxbury and mass transit hub Dudley Square. The 17,000 m² facility will become the headquarters of the Boston Public Schools Administration and will include green, state-of-the-art office space, retail and civic spaces, and meeting space for the community.
