Display hall Van den Weghe natural stone company in Zulte (2009) The authentic beauty of natural stone as a calling card BURO II 28 May 2009 [Text in French and Dutch further down this page] The Stone Company, a natural stone company in Zulte, underwent a true metamorphosis. The renovated display hall cum meeting and office space was decorated austerely and elegantly with the natural stone product as a calling card used in all its facets. Natural stone is the ideal natural material. Very few materials can equal the beauty of natural stone. The layered outlook is always totally different, formed over millennia. The craftsmanship of the company in combination with the creativity of interior architect Katty Ghekiere led to a result in which all of the possibilities of this leading, durable material can shine. The entrance hall puts you in the right atmosphere immediately. In this area, the poetry of the marble served as the inspiration and light was put to use in an original way: a lampshade carved from solid Calcata marble, strips of wall lighting, a translucent tile floor, and an illuminated pillar in grey-green natural stone. The light-lines that flow over the ceiling and the walls in the offices and meeting rooms form a common element that unites all of the spaces. They create a subtle play of light. The entire floor was tiled with Basaltina, in large cut pieces in the reception areas and in lines in the landscape office. For the three meeting rooms, specific and unique solutions for the floors and walls were sought. The Nero Marquina tiles with milled drawings in gold leaf catch the eye immediately. By continuing that theme from the floor to the wall, the meeting room gets another spatial feeling. That gives the doors to the meeting rooms, a combination of black tinted glass and polished stainless steel, a brilliant appearance. The long counter in Bianco Statuario shows the beautiful results that custom work can lead to. The wall behind the reception counter boasts a very exclusive best-of-show creation in blue agate by Antonio Luigi. An eye-catcher....almost a work of art. The open landscape office is partially hidden behind the reception counter and is hidden from view by a closed natural stone space containing a variety of practical functions, such as the sanitary facilities, kitchenette and storage space. The walls of this volume, executed in Bardiglio, were given a raw, Rigato finish, which lights up the natural stone. A nice detail has been used in the sanitary facilities. The men's toilet was finished in Smoky Black, while the ladies' toilet was given a more feminine touch with white Lasa marble. The new display hall has a spacious feeling, even though a relatively large amount of exclusive ceramic and natural stone materials are on display there. With the subtle presentation of the wide range of materials in the antique library cabinets, unity is created nevertheless. Clients can even take the different materials off the racks to try out different combinations. On one side, the new display hall opens out onto a lovely display bathroom with walk-in shower; on the other side, it opens into the old showroom with different floor areas that continue to serve as presentation space. The BURO Interior design united the classical elements in the new display hall with contemporary design for the meeting and office spaces. Here, natural stone serves as a timeless material, and one with a lot of character developed through its petrified evolution to create an unmatchable look of luxury. Display hall Van den Weghe natural stone company Zulte images from BURO II Belgian Architect Studios Office Buildings [French text] Salle d'exposition de l'entreprise de pierre de taille Van den Weghe à Zulte (2009) La beauté authentique de la pierre naturelle en guise de carte de visite The Stonecompany, une entreprise de pierre naturelle de Zulte, a fait l'objet d'une authentique métamorphose. La rénovation de la salle d'exposition - et espace bureaux et de réunion - a été effectuée de façon épurée et élégante avec, en guise de carte de visite, le produit " pierre naturelle " appliqué sous toutes ses facettes. La pierre naturelle représente le matériau naturel par excellence. Très peu de matériaux peuvent en effet égaler la beauté de la pierre naturelle et ses multiples stratifications constituées au fil des siècles. Le savoir-faire de l'entreprise associé à la créativité de l'architecte d'intérieur Katty Ghekiere a permis de mettre pleinement en évidence toutes les applications potentielles de ce matériau durable et essentiel. Dès l'entrée, le visiteur baigne dans une atmosphère alliant la poésie du marbre et le caractère ludique d'un éclairage original : abat-jour taillé dans du marbre Calcata massif, bandes lumineuses sur les murs, carrelage translucide et colonne éclairée de pierre naturelle gris-vert. Les lignes lumineuses cheminant le long du plafond et des murs des bureaux et des salles de réunion forment un fil conducteur unissant les différents espaces et créent un jeu de lumière subtil. Le sol a été intégralement revêtu de Basaltina, sous forme de grandes pièces sur mesure dans les zones d'accueil et de bandes dans le bureau paysager. Des solutions uniques et spécifiques ont systématiquement été recherchées pour le sol et le mur de chacune des trois salles de réunion. Le regard est directement accroché par les carreaux Nero Marquina ornés de motifs feuilles d'or, dont le prolongement du sol au mur donne à la salle une sensation d'espace particulière. Les portes d'accès des salles de réunion, composées de verre noir teinté et d'inox poli, leur donnent en outre un éclat somptueux. Le long comptoir en Bianco Statuario symbolise l'esthétique résultant d'un travail sur mesure. L'espace mural derrière le comptoir accueille un authentique fleuron artistique, une œuvre en agate bleue d'Antonio Luigi qui capte immanquablement l'attention. Le bureau paysager ouvert partiellement dissimulé derrière ce comptoir est soustrait au regard par un volume fermé en pierre naturelle accueillant différentes fonctions pratiques telles que les sanitaires, la kitchenette et l'espace de rangement. Les murs de ce volume en Bardiglio ont été soumis à un traitement " Rigato " (finitions brutes) faisant ressortir l'éclat de la pierre naturelle. Le sens du détail s'exprime également dans les sanitaires, où les toilettes pour hommes se caractérisent par des finitions Smoky Black, alors que les toilettes pour dames comportent une touche plus féminine sous la forme de marbre Lasa. La nouvelle salle d'exposition donne un sentiment d'espace, et ce, malgré la présentation de nombreux matériaux en céramique et pierre naturelle. Une unité d'ensemble a pu être suscitée grâce à la présentation subtile de matériaux très divers dans les bibliothèques d'époque. Le client peut même utiliser les matériaux des étagères pour essayer toutes sortes de combinaisons. D'un côté, la nouvelle salle d'exposition donne sur une superbe salle de bains d'exposition avec douche de plain-pied. De l'autre, elle débouche sur " l'ancienne " salle d'exposition avec différents plans de sol, qui continue à faire office d'espace de présentation. La conception de BURO Interior a permis d'allier les éléments classiques de la nouvelle salle d'exposition et l'esthétique contemporaine de l'espace de bureaux et de réunion. La pierre naturelle, un matériau intemporel au caractère forgé au fil d'une longue évolution séculaire, donne à l'ensemble un éclat somptueux incomparable. [Dutch text] Toonzaal natuursteenbedrijf Van den Weghe in Zulte (2009) De authentieke schoonheid van natuursteen als visitekaartje The Stonecompany, een natuursteenbedrijf in Zulte, onderging een ware metamorfose. De vernieuwde toonzaal annex vergader- en kantoorruimte werd strak en elegant ingericht met het produkt natuursteen als visitekaartje - dat in al zijn facetten werd toegepast. Natuursteen is een natuurlijk materiaal bij uitstek. Zeer weinig materialen kunnen de schoonheid van natuursteen evenaren. De gelaagde vorm is telkens totaal anders, gevormd door de eeuwen heen. Het vakmanschap van het bedrijf in combinatie met de creativiteit van interieurarchitecte Katty Ghekiere leidde tot een resultaat dat dit toonaangevende, duurzame materiaal in al zijn toepassingen laat schitteren. De inkomhal brengt je meteen in de juiste sfeer. Hier diende de poëzie van het marmer als inspiratie en wordt op een originele manier met verlichting gespeeld : een lampenkap uitgehold uit massieve Calacata-marmer, stroken wandverlichting, een lichtdoorlatende tegelvloer, een verlichte zuil in grijsgroene natuursteen. De lichtlijnen die in de burelen en vergaderzalen over het plafond en de muren lopen, vormen een leidraad die alle ruimtes met elkaar verbindt. Ze creëren een subtiel lichtspel. De volledige vloer werd betegeld met Basaltina, in grote maatstukken in de ontvangstzones en in banen in het landschapskantoor. In de drie verschillende vergaderzalen werd telkens gezocht naar zeer specifieke en unieke oplossingen voor vloer en wand. Meteen springen de Nero Marquina tegels met ingefreesde tekening in bladgoud in het oog. Door ze op te trekken van de vloer in de wand krijgt deze vergaderzaal een ander ruimtegevoel. De toegangsdeuren van de vergaderzalen, een combinatie van zwart getint glas en gepolierde inox , kregen zo een schitterende uitstraling. De lange balie in Bianco Statuario toont aan tot welk fraai eindresultaat maatwerk kan leiden. Aan de wand achter de balie bevindt zich het zeer exclusieve paradepaardje in blauwe agaat van Antonio Luigi. Een eyecatcher, bijna een kunstwerk. Het open landschapskantoor zit gedeeltelijk verscholen achter deze balie en wordt aan het oog onttrokken door een gesloten natuursteenvolume waarin verschillende praktische functies ondergebracht werden zoals sanitair, kitchenette en bergruimte. De wanden van dit volume in Bardiglio kregen een 'Rigato' afwerking (ruwe behandeling) waardoor de natuursteen oplicht. Een leuk detail zit in het sanitair. Het herentoilet werd afgewerkt in Smoky Black terwijl in het damestoilet voor een meer vrouwelijke toets is gekozen nl. wit Lasa marmer. De nieuwe toonzaal geeft een ruim gevoel, terwijl er toch behoorlijk veel exclusieve materialen in keramiek en natuursteen voorgesteld worden. Door de subtiele presentatie van de zeer diverse materialen in de antieke bibliotheekkasten wordt toch een eenheid gecreëerd. De klant kan zelf de verschillende materialen uit de rekken halen om allerlei combinaties uit te proberen. Aan de ene kant geeft de nieuwe toonzaal uit op een prachtige showbadkamer met inloopdouche, aan de andere kant loopt ze over in de 'oude' showroom met verschillende vloervlakken die blijft dienst doen als presentatieruimte. Het ontwerp van BURO Interior verenigt de klassieke elementen in de nieuwe toonzaal met de hedendaagse vormgeving van de vergader- en kantoorruimte. Hier zorgt natuursteen als tijdloos materiaal, tegelijk met veel karakter door z'n versteende evolutie, voor een onevenaarbare luxe-uitstraling. In dit project komt de authentieke schoonheid van natuursteen op een sprekende manier tot zijn recht.
