Sant Jordi Pavilion Barcelona: Arata Isozaki

St Jordi Sports Pavilion / Palau Sant Jordi
Hill of Montjuic, southwest Barcelona
1988-90
Arata Isozaki & Associates, Architects

A dull square building with grey domed roof, it seemed lifeless when I saw it being built and now in a deserted plateau looks no better.

Communications Tower, Montjuic
Hill of Montjuic, southwest Barcelona
Santiago Calatrava, Architect

Joan Miro Foundation
Parc de Montjuïc, Barcelona

Rather lumpen building with simple courtyards but lacking and real spice, certainly none of the Barcelona Pavliions grace. Entry to the lobby, shops and cafe is free.
