Barcelona Park : Architecture Information + Images

Auditoria Park, Forum / Parc dels Auditoris Diagonal Mar - Barcelona Forum 2004 Foreign Office Architecture: Alejandro Zaera-Polo + Farshid Moussavi, Architects Like the Yokohama Ferry Terminal also by Foreign Office Architecture this intervention fuses landscape with sculpture to make architecture: flowing and undulating tessellated strips run along the seafront to make 'man-made dunes'. Either side of the sweeping valleys are grassy areas with huge clumps of bamboo. The tessellated discs are in two earthy colours - duller than the visuals suggested sadly. When roughly flat they have unfortunate tarmac-like infills and when almost vertical just gaps exposing rubble and earth. Up close the Parc dels Auditoris was a let down (certainly after all the hype of the project and of the architects) for me but the overall atmosphere is quite good and no doubt brilliant for cyclists, skateboarders, etc. Auditoria Park photos: Auditoria Park images available upon request: photos 1280x1024 pixels, 72dpi
