The Infinity Centre, Melbourne, Victoria
Design: McBride Charles Ryan

The Infinity Centre Australia - 22 Apr 2013
The idea of infinite learning became the mantra. Radiating out from the library, along the length of the form, are specialist precincts and a variety of learning spaces. Each wing of the building then returns to link up, forming cloisters and the resulting plan of an infinity symbol. Being structured around two protected courtyards has enhanced the learning space’s access to light, ventilation and view.

Swanston Academic Building, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

Swanston Academic Building - 26 Nov 2012
This new building, called the Swanston Academic Building, is an idea about building a vertical campus and drawing the diversity of the city deeply in to the design conception. As student space is not available like a green campus, the project proposes a vertical ‘stack’ of informal ‘open’ student spaces, each connected to a central circulation system of escalators and stairs.
Dandenong Government Services Offices, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
Design: HASSELL

Dandenong GSO - 5 Oct 2012
The Government Services Offices development is one of the key projects of the Revitalising Central Dandenong initiative, a major urban renewal project being led by Places Victoria and the Victorian State Government. Developed and built by Grocon, the challenge of this landmark development was to create a high standard of urban design and quality workplace in this outer-suburban region, and to assist in the rebirth of the precinct as a major mixed-use activity centre.
Brisbane Street Additions, Perth, Western Australia
Design: rad architecture

Brisbane Street Additions - 15 Aug 2012
Conceived as a riposte to the Local Authority’s requirement that we superficially 'decorate' a large expanse of wall on the western boundary, rad architecture’s concept for the Brisbane Street Additions was drawn from the lifestyle of our clients. Our design response was to “redefine the edge” to create a boundary on the move, in tension and compression, not necessarily straight and challenging the traditions of structure and container.
Cloud House, North Fitzroy, Melbourne
Architect: McBride Charles Ryan

photo : John Gollings
Cloud House - 23 Jul 2012
The Cloud House is an addition and renovation to a double-fronted Edwardian house in Fitzroy North. Over the course of close to a century, this house has received several additions and modifications. McBride Charles Ryan's work for the house is designed in three parts. This allows for a sequence of distinct and unexpected episodes, with glimpses previewing oncoming spaces and experiences as you move through the home.
Beaumaris Dental, Victoria
Demaine Partnership

image : Peter Clarke Photography
Beaumaris Dental - 19 Apr 2012
This project began when two dentists, who are also father and son, decided that they needed a new building for their growing dental practice - a building that would reflect the quality of their dentistry and modern equipment and a building that would serve their business well into the future.

State Theatre Western Australia - added Feb 2012
The building volumes are clearly articulated on the site. The theatres are stacked vertically and located centrally, freeing up space on the site for a large courtyard: an urban oasis and outdoor event space. Theatre foyers are located on the perimeter of the site: low transparent volumes that reinstate the urban scale of the surrounding streets and celebrate the activity within. Multiple entries create a permeable, welcoming venue, knitted into the urban fabric.
