This is a fascinating collaboration between two centres of excellence, SIT [Singapore Institute of Technology] and GSA [Glasgow School of Art]. The Programme proposes a unique fusion of design culture, skills, methodologies and ideology. The collaboration recognises the growing global trends of international design, culture, collaboration, business, knowledge exchange and communication. It offers students a duel platform from which to developed innovative and challenging responses when tackling multidisciplinary and culturally diverse projects.
From September 2012, the GSA will deliver years 3 and 4 of its Bachelor of Art (Hons) Programmes in Communication Design and Interior Design in Singapore, in partnership with the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) and Temasek Polytechnic (TP). The programmes enable Diploma students from one of Singapore's Polytechnics to 'top-up' their Diploma to a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree.
Students studying in Singapore will benefit from not only the same programme of study and award as in the home institution, and resources and equipment according to GSA specifications, but also access to the additional specialist resources, equipment and workshops of TP.
Every student studying in Singapore will also have the opportunity to spend 3 weeks in Scotland at the GSA, working directly with their counterparts in the same programmes based in Glasgow. This extra credit-bearing component will provide a chance to see the graduation exhibition, experience the history of Glasgow and the GSA, of the local cultural and industrial context, and location-specific projects drawing on all of these".

The Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), established in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), is seeking a pillar head in the area of Architecture and Sustainable Design for this new university slated to matriculate its first intake of students in April 2012.
SUTD, the first university in the world with a focus on design accomplished through an integrated multi-disciplinary curriculum, has a mission to advance knowledge and nurture technically grounded leaders and innovators to serve societal needs. SUTD is characterised by a breadth of intellectual perspectives (the “university”), a focus on engineering foundations (“technology”) and an emphasis on innovation and creativity (design). The University’s programmes are based on four pillars leading to separate degree programmes in Architecture and Sustainable Design, Engineering Product Development, Engineering Systems and Design, and Information Systems Technology and Design.
