Construction Ahead Exhibition, Venice, Italy
30 May - 31 Aug 2013
Location: Campiello Santa Maria Nova, Venice
CONSTRUCTION AHEAD, title chosen for the exhibition at CA’ASI, defines the building site as a space for possibilities from which stories, reflections and questions can emerge. At the invitation of AS.ARCHITECTURE-STUDIO, Valérie Jouve, Amaury Wenger and Zhenfei Wang have produced new photographic series on this particular moment of architecture under construction. Featuring the works of these three photographers, as well as a site specific installation by Didier Faustino and a seminal film by Gordon Matta-Clark, the exhibition explores the complex relationships of architecture with time, body and image.
The catalogue, published for this occasion, will gather reflections of the invited artists and architects, drawing out a dialogue, initiated in the exhibition, between architecture and contemporary art. Created by AS.ARCHITECTURE-STUDIO, CA’ASI is a new space for contemporary art and architecture, situated in a medieval Venetian house.

AIAKC Legible Cities, Kansas City, Missouri, USA
AIA Kansas City Architecture Event
Legible Cities is a trend in which contemporary urban environments are piloting programs that leverage their vast storehouses of data to enhance city’s services and improve inhabitants’ quality of life. If information is the currency of the world, then many cities have under-leveraged assets buried deep in their data on urban conditions, city operations and the environment. Couple with other data sources, the promise of releasing big data to the people is a new approach to understanding cities by making them more legible.
