Dundas Mansion
Built axially to George Street, set back off St Andrew Square, the Dundas Mansion forms the eastern end point to Edinburgh New Town's central vista. Built to house Sir Laurence Dundas.

William Chambers - Background to the Architect

William Chambers was born in Sweden of British parentage but practised as an architect in England and Scotland.

William Chambers was the architecture tutor to King George III and in 1761 was appointed with Robert Adam as George’s Royal Architect of Works.

Sir William Chambers helped set up the Royal Academy of Arts in 1768
