A railway station that serves variously as gateway, anchor and beacon, setting the tone for a huge development site on the Thames that will eventually contain 11,000 homes but which at the moment sits almost empty apart from this building:

Chris Williamson, one of the founders of WW&P, said: “We are proud to have won. Needless to say that Egypt has a unique cultural heritage, but we were also attracted by the ambition of the project, clearly expressed through the brief.

Cambodia School Design + Build Project

WestonWilliamson+Partners report that they are working with Engenuiti and Building Trust International to design a school in Cambodia and will help build the project alongside the local community. With their generous help they will raise most of the funds to carry out the project.

WW+P’s design services will be for a primary and secondary school located in Khyaung Village, Kampon Province, Cambodia. The brief is to design and build 3 classrooms and a library.

A team from Building Trust and WW+P will head out to Cambodia in October, where they will help construct the school. Building Trust will hold workshops on sustainable building techniques for the local community alongside the team of volunteers. An introductory meeting and a design charrette has already taken place to collaborate on a sustainable and durable vision for development and a forum of ideas for the school and fundraising. This project is an international extension of WW+P’s work with local schools encouraging students to become aware of opportunities in engineering, architecture and construction.
