First Prize
Architect: Sebastian Irarrazaval
Associated Architects: Martin Labbé and Carolina Portugueis
The competition was open to faculty teachers and former students. Participants
were asked to present project portfolios and ideas for the new building.
The jury was composed by the faculty dean, the faculty directors and the
university infrastructure director.
The five stories building will be placed in the faculty Campus in Santiago
de Chile and poses a structural system based on light buttresses that
free interior spaces, in order to achieve maximum flexibility.
A the same time, in order to achieve greatest comfort standards (light
and ventilation), inner spaces have double orientation, enhanced by a
circulation placed in the perimeter.
