The Pavilion is ironically reframed Villa Frankenstein, making direct reference to the ideas of the British Victorian social critic and historian of Venetian architecture John Ruskin. It has been conceived by muf as a stage for an exchange of ideas between Venice and the UK.

muf Architects - Practice Information
muf architecture/art
Formed in 1994/95, muf architecture/art is a collaborative practice of art and architecture committed to public realm projects that embed enduring and unexpected interventions into the physical and social fabric of the urban environment.
The practice philosophy is driven by an ambition to realise the potential pleasures that exist at the intersection between the lived and the built.
Current projects by muf range from a new library for Dalston, a re-visiting of Beckton Alp and an education-led masterpan for Cologne.
muf has an international reputation for its site-specific research driven public projects, which negotiate between the built and social fabric; between public and private spaces
Muf Architects : London Architect Studio
Liza Fior of muf talked at the RIAS Conference in 2002:
Fior talked of her bench-building project to build bridges in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, where the use of pottery being particular to the site was used in an unusual but rooted way.
Projects in St. Albans and East London were also covered.
