The reconstruction of the Parliament is situated in the old town of Lausanne. The new building designed by the Catalan architects in collaboration with Marc Collomb, synthesises old and new, and contributes to a regeneration of the urban fabric. Ii tries to create a balance between traditional construction and new technologies.

Esteve Bonell was born Banyoles, Girona, Spain, in 1942.
He graduated in 1971 and taught at the Official College of Architects of Catalonia in 1972. He has been working with Francesc Rius i Camps, also the Van der Rohe Prize, and with Josep Maria Gil. He has been a visiting professor in Paris and Lausanne. His professional studio has him on Rosellón street, in the Ensanche of Barcelona.
