Seah Chee Huang and Ng San Son Named in URA’s 20 under 45
DP Architects’ Mr Seah Chee Huang and Mr Ng San Son have been selected by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) to showcase their portfolio of works as part of the URA 20 under 45 initiative.

Rhizome House and The New Mediacorp Campus Recognised by SIA
DP Architects’ Rhizome House and the new MediaCorp Campus were both presented with the Singapore Institute of Architects (SIA) accolades at the Awards Presentation Dinner, on 5 October 2017.

Rhizome House, an installation and spatial prototype, was awarded the Design Award under the ‘Special Category – Overseas’. Initially created in response to the overarching theme of biomimicry for the Amsterdam Light Festival 2016-2017, the interactive light installation was praised by the jury for demonstrating a creative spirit and risk-taking boldness. Rhizome House was further complimented for its ability to engage the public, its experimental and explorative process and how it presents new possibilities of design and build of the future.

A collaborative project with Maki and Associates, the new MediaCorp Campus received the Honourable Mention under the ‘Special Category – Others’. Located strategically at the center of Mediapolis – the nation’s first media ecosystem, the new MediaCorp Campus is unmissable with its sharp planes and angular profiles creating a kinetic and highly sculptural silhouette. The design was commended on for navigating public and private space well, sitting harmoniously within the site, with clear and delightful spaces created through the inter-weaving of controlled work areas and public spaces.

An exhibition tracing DP Architects’ 50 years design journey opens 11 Aug
FRIDAY, 11 AUGUST 2017 (SINGAPORE) – DP Architects’ exhibition tracing the firm’s 50 years architecture journey opens at The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) Centre this evening. The exhibition will be officially opened by guest-of-honour Minister of National Development Lawrence Wong.
The firm was founded as Design Partnership in 1967, and incorporated as DP Architects in 1975. DP has evolved in tandem with Singapore’s nation building, becoming an important contributor to the country’s public projects and urban development.

TUESDAY, 1 AUGUST 2017 (SINGAPORE) – From 12 August to 29 September 2017, DP Architects will present a seven-week exhibition, A Common Line | One Global Studio, showcasing 50 years of the firm’s architectural explorations.

Established in 1967, DP has evolved in tandem with Singapore’s nation building, becoming an important contributor to the country’s public projects and urban development. The firm’s work in Singapore has played a critical role in shaping the urban landscape: beginning with early projects like People’s Park Complex and Golden Mile Complex, early architectural anchors that helped introduce Singapore to new styles of modernist architecture; to some 20 projects on and around Orchard Road that redeveloped the retail corridor; to more recent projects like Esplanade and Singapore Sports Hub that have become integral components of the urban fabric.

BCDA Iconic Building Design Competition News
DP Architects shortlisted for the Iconic Tower in Manila Philippines International competition.
The Bases Conversion and Development Authority aims to develop its new corporate office in the northern portion of Bonifacio Global City, Taguig with an area of 7,275-sqm. The majority of the area will be allotted for open spaces, parks, landscapes, and public arts.

Jury’s Decision
This project was selected due to the dynamic and suggestive nature of the architecture it incorporates. It is resolved using pieces that, through the exercise of repetition on different scales, inhabit and filter the space, generating new paths and provoking a unique relationship between the pedestrian and the square, making them a participant.
Every installation is created by teams of architects and designers who propose, experiment with and explore new fields of design in the environment. In this way, the Festival offers them the chance to create architectural interventions in the heart of the city, establishing a dialogue between heritage and contemporary architecture, facilitating citizens’ reflection on those spaces.
View into Plaza del Revellin:
Since 2015 Concéntrico is being organized by La Rioja Architects Cultural Foundation (Fundación Cultural de los Arquitectos de La Rioja, FCAR), along with Javier Peña Ibáñez, the promotor of the initiative, and in collaboration with the local government of Logroño, Garnica and the Integral Design Center of La Rioja (Centro de Diseño Integral de La Rioja, CEdiR). Its goal is to prompt reflection on the city through architectural and design proposals.
Concéntrico 03 will be held from April 27 through May 1, 2017.

DP Architects Ranks Seventh in World Architecture 100 Survey
This Singapore architectural practice has been ranked the world’s seventh largest architecture practice in the World Architecture 100 (WA100) survey. Retaining its 2012 position, DP Architects is the only Southeast Asian practice in the top ten. The firm first made the top ten in 2012, after it moved up from thirteenth place in 2011.
