This £27m building and road closure has started, reports the BBC. The centre will replace existing buildings. After the closure of the A344, a shuttle service taking visitors to and from the stones will start.

A multimedia walking tour spanning 10 of Melbourne’s most architecturally significant buildings will launch on 14 Jul, to coincide with this year’s State of Design festival. Told through the voices of engineers, architects, project managers, building users and children, the tour includes Denton Corker Marshall’s Melbourne Museum and its world-heritage listed neighbour, the Royal Exhibition Building.

Pedestrian Bridge, Hangzhou, China
Denton Corker Marshall is one of six practices invited to submit in a limited international design competition for a 400m long pedestrian bridge at Jinsha Lake in Hangzhou, China.
Denton Corker Marshall is consistently successful in design competitions and has won numerous commissions to design buildings of international significance, such as the Manchester Civil Justice Centre and the Stonehenge Visitor Centre in the UK, the Australian Embassies in Beijing, Tokyo and Jakarta, and the Melbourne Museum. The practice has previously won bridge design competitions for Webb Bridge (Melbourne, Australia), Eleanor Schonell Bridge (Brisbane, Australia) and Te Wero Bridge (Auckland, New Zealand).
