Park Modern, Condominium Home
Seattle, Washington
Price per square foot (2007 dollars): $154
Each home’s interior focuses on quality of space, natural light and material selection. Durable service finishes were combined with smooth, crisp, unadorned surfaces for a calm, clean look. The homes were conceived as sensible backdrops that their inhabitants could fully use to nurture their active lifestyles. The BUILD “kit of parts” of tried and tested hardware, lighting and fixtures (refined, cost-effective and durable) was used in these homes to create timeless and lasting value.

Concord Penthouse 03
Belltown, Seattle, Washington
Price per square foot (2009 dollars): $597
BUILD was asked to design and completely build-out the interior of this two-story penthouse condominium shell for an active couple. An extensive walnut and bamboo cabinet package organizes the spaces and allows for a tidy, clean living experience. Design elements include a glass stair above a glowing shower enclosure, floor to ceiling glass doors and folding planes of material which become sitting benches and soffits.

Davidson Residence
Magnolia, Seattle, Washington
Price per square foot (projected): $202
Currently in construction, the newest BUILD residential project expands on our strategy of framing views, filtering light and creating provocative and timeless forms. This home’s palette of materials, hardware and fixtures combines tried and true components in combination with new and emerging alternatives to create a home that meets its owners’ request for a unique personal home while maintaining timeless value.
Broderson Residence

Broderson Remodel
Shoreline, Washington
Price per square foot: $152
This mid-century modern home was updated to last another 50 years. Although modest in size, the plan was intelligently reconfigured to accommodate a family of 4 without adding onto the existing footprint. The new interior includes a new kitchen, new bathrooms and new surfaces throughout. An extensive cabinet package harmoniously ties the interiors together and provides a great amount of storage. Existing textures, like the stone walls and stone fireplaces, were retained and resurfaced for their character. Strategically located fin walls frame views and provide a sequence of experiences. A new roof structure at the front announces the entry and defines the functions of the house.
