The given volume of the city block was divided into 30 small blocks of apartments. These blocks are positioned in a checkerboard pattern next to and on top of each other, leaving wide openings for communal patios throughout the building. 146 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments are all accessed via these communal spaces.

The façade is made of coated concrete which was from the ground floor up constructed in complete mould system, an efficient and clean way to cast concrete, keeping the construction cost to a minimum; an important asset for this social housing project. The polyurethane coating allows the façade to shimmer and reflect depending on the light condition.

Blanca Lleó founded her office in 1985. Her work as an architect has been published and awarded on numerous occasions.

Selected works include: the bus-library Bibliobus for Madrid; the restoration of the Alcazar and Convent of the Sofias in Toro, Zamora, the project for the Park of the Salinas in Cádiz; the penitentiary center of Jaén; the Lighthouse of Nules in Castellón, the tourist center Tabaiba II in Lanzarote; the City Hall of Lorca in Murcia,the Exhibition of Ignazio Gardella at the MOPU Madrid, the project Fundación Madrid Nuevo Siglo in Madrid, a Project for Loewe in Madrid, housing block El Mirador of Sanchinarro in Madrid (with MVRDV); housing block Celosía in Sanchinarro, Madrid (with MVRDV); 48 apartments in Aguilas del Teide, Tenerife, 17 villas in Águilas del Teide, Tenerife; Student Housing in Montjuic, Barcelona; Torre Bioclimática in La Isla, Madrid; 4 housing towers in Nueva Condomina, Murcia.

Blanca Lleó is Lead Professor in Practice of Architecture at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid where she teaches since 1990 and is Associate Dean for External Relations since 2008. Her investigation on the modern house, realized in Spain and the United States has been published in two books, INFORME HABITAR (Madrid, EMVS 2.006) and SUEÑO DE HABITAR (Barcelona Caja de Arquitectos 1998 with introduction by Beatriz Colomina, Ed. Gustavo Gili 2005 with introduction by Francisco Jarauta) obtaining the Extraordinary Prize of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (1995-96). First Prize of the Caja de Arquitectos Foundation. COAM Prize (1998) and Special Mention at the VI Iberoamerican Biennial of Architecture.
