Studio of Biq Architect was founded in 1994 by Rick Wessels and Hans van der Heijden

"biq is a Dutch architecture practice based in Rotterdam. The name biq refers to the well-known French company that mass produces ballpoint pens and lighters. biq identify their practice with the same precision, ideas and performance that produced these everyday useful objects."

Biq won the Europan-4 competition (1996) for a site in Liverpool, England
