In light of recent developments the Directors of Alsop Architects confirm that they are committed to driving the office forward with significant new projects, coupled with an ambitious approach to architecture and the growth of the practice.

With work on confirmed projects of a construction value of £380m underway at the studio in Battersea, London, and a number of interesting future project opportunities, Alsop Architects is looking forward to a rich and diverse portfolio of work internationally and in the UK.

Major education, sports and mixed use development projects in the UK and Holland have recently commenced construction. Several projects are in planning including work in North America and Europe, with further opportunities in the Middle East.

The Alsop Architects studio comprises a team of highly talented individuals working with adventurous clients who share the practice's collaborative and creative approach to architecture, masterplanning and design. The studio is proud to be carrying forward the legacy of a practice that has been responsible for some of the world's most distinctive buildings.

The team is led by directors Duncan Macaulay, Jonathan Leah, Max Titchmarsh, Shaun Russell and Maurice Evans, supported by associates Ed Norman, Wolfgang Frese and Uwe Frohmader. The studio is strongly focussed on continuing to deliver outstanding projects and enjoying the work and opportunities within the practice.

Practice Information

Background Alsop Architects

Alsop Architects is committed to architecture of delight and enjoyment, reached through a process that involves the building users, the client and the local community. Community involvement is seen as a vital ingredient in the design process. In addition Alsop Architects' buildings are known for their bold and often dramatic incorporation of art. Close collaboration with artists is often reinforced by an innovative use of new materials and a bold use of colour.

Over the last 20 years the award-winning practice has established an international reputation for buildings that bring merit to their location and joy to their users. Alsop Architects' significant experience in regeneration projects includes the £97million Regional Government Headquarters in Marseilles; The Cardiff Bay Visitors' Centre; North Greenwich Tube Station; Peckham Library (named Building of the Year as winner of the RIBA's Stirling Prize 2000), the 18-storey Colorium Tower on the Dusseldorf waterfront and the recently completed residential development 'Chips' in New Islington, Manchester.

In addition, the practice has become increasingly involved in complex urban design and "visioning" studies for a number of UK towns in need of regeneration, notably Barnsley (transformed into a Tuscan Hill Village), Bradford, Halifax, Stoke on Trent, Middlesborough, Manchester, Walsall and most recently Croydon.

In London, several major projects have completed in recent years: the Ben Pimlott Building, a major new building for Goldsmiths College, University of London; the Blizard Building, a new School of Medicine and Dentistry for Queen Mary University of London; and Palestra, Alsop Archiects' first contribution to the rapidly developing Bankside quarter.

In addition to an extensive range of work in Europe, Alsop Architects has completed projects in North America including the Ontario College of Art and Design's Sharpe Centre for Design was awarded a RIBA prize for an International Building of the Year.

Alsop Architcts' first major project in the Far East, the re-development of Clarke Quay in the historic quarter of Singapore completed in 2006. The project provides an animated combination of new public/leisure facilities and commercial office space next to a revitalised waterfront.
