5th Studio open their London Studio in Kings Cross
5th Studio have opened a London studio in Wren Street, WC1 which enables
them to take on an expanding portfolio of projects in London and the south.
The Cambridge and London studios will work in tandem with on-going exchanges
between the staff.
Nathan Jones has been appointed a Director and will manage the London
studio. Nathan studied at Cambridge University and the Massachusetts Institute
of Technology, and was awarded the RIBA Presidents Medals Part II
SOM prize in 2003. He has worked on a range of architectural and urban
projects at Allies and Morrison Architects and Stephen Taylor Architects.
At Allies and Morrison, he was a key member of the team working in collaboration
with EDAW, Foreign Office Architects and HOK on the development of the
masterplans for the Lower Lea Valley for the London 2012 Olympic bid.
With Stephen Taylor Architects, he was joint project architect for a £12m
mixed-use building in Reading.
John Cain and Kieran Perkins have been appointed as Associates.
5th Studio Ltd was established in Cambridge in 1997 and has studios in
London and Cambridge. The practice is built on the broad experience of
the two principal directors Oliver Smith and Tom Holbrook. This experience
ranges from regeneration projects to award-winning public buildings. The
practice is one of the AJ Corus 40 Under 40, an award scheme celebrating
a talented new generation of architects.
