New York by Gehry
Praised by architecture critics and beloved by photographers worldwide, the 76-story building with cladding draped like fabric is an inspired addition to the Manhattan skyline, a shining symbol of Lower Manhattan’s resurgence as a vibrant residential, commercial and cultural neighborhood. The mixed-use development includes a five-story, 100,000-square-foot public school, the first ever built in New York City on private land, set to open this September, as well as doctors’ offices for physicians associated with New York Downtown Hospital.

This is the first high-rise by the celebrated Swiss architecture practice. It is a 57-story residential condominium building in the Tribeca Historic District of Manhattan. The building will contain 145 residences. The architects describe as “houses stacked in the sky,” blending indoors and outdoors seamlessly together.

Frick Chemistry Laboratory
The Frick Chemistry Laboratory represents an expression of contemporary building craft, seamlessly integrating modern architectural features and cutting-edge sustainable building technologies. A sense of unified integration extends through the light-filled structure, with its glass façade reflecting the surrounding woodlands and stream valley and its interior joining the Department of Chemistry’s teaching and research programs.

The Yogi Berra Museum
The Yogi Berra Museum and Learning Center needed to upgrade and expand its exhibition and support space for the museum that uses the life lessons of Yogi Berra, the New York Yankees and baseball to teach and promote good sportsmanship, respect, integrity, social justice and the pursuit of excellence. The museum also wished to transform its solid, opaque, unwelcoming road side appearance. The challenge, for this non-profit organization, was to expand space for exhibiting baseball’s finest memorabilia, to create space for collaborative teaching, to create flexible space for hosting rental functions and gatherings and to transform the exterior entrance appearance within a very modest budget.
