First Bus HQ
Stewart Milne Construction has won the contract to construct its new
global headquarters and bus depot at its existing site on King Street,
Aberdeen. Work due to be complete Spring 2009. The building will use ground
source heat pumps and movement responsive lighting. The development will
retain the 1862 listed building as the focal point of the new development.
It will also be a FirstGroup world training centre. Approximately 160
people will be located at the new headquarters.

First Group propose a new £10m global headquarters in Aberdeen at
their King Street First Bus depot, the site of the current First Group
headquarters.
Two years ago First Group announced plans for the headquarters by the
River Don at Woodside. A planning application is due to be submitted in
2007.
Following its decision to withdraw the Woodside planning application First
Group reviewed a number of other sites in Aberdeen.
First Group hopes to start work on the King Street site in summer 2007.
The proposal includes a new UK training facility.
